THE IMPORTANT STUFF...

 

Take care not to knock or drop your jewellery. Gemstones might look tough, but their hardness can vary greatly from one stone to another and a hard knock could crack or chip your precious stone.

​

Don't expose your jewellery to chemicals. They can damage stones, especially softer stones like Turquoise, Variscite, Opals and Pearls, and can also corrode precious metals. So take your jewellery off when swimming, showering, in hot tubs, sauna's, when using cleaning products, or anywhere there may be chemicals.  Even salt (i.e. the ocean) can damage your precious jewels.

Remove your jewellery when doing strenuous exercise and work, like gardening, household chores, building a deck....ok, that's very specific, but you get the idea.

​

Avoid using commercial jewellery cleaning products. They are too harsh on stones and will also remove the patina (purposefully oxidised or darkened areas) from the silver.

​CHAINS

Each chain is quality tested before leaving the studio, and although of the highest quality, they are not indestructible. Chains can wear over time. It is recommend that you apply makeup and perfume before putting on chains. Take care when removing scarves, jumpers or coats to ensure the chain doesn't get snagged and damaged.  Always take your necklaces off when sleeping as they can tangle and the links can break.

Some of my jewellery features oxidation, which is a purposeful darkening of the silver to highlight textures and patterns. Other pieces are not oxidised.

​

To maintain all of your silver, simply use the silver polishing cloth provided to buff and brighten up the highlighted areas of the silver.

​

When you're not wearing your PR jewels, store them in separate zip-lock bags, in a safe, dry place. This will help prevent scratches, and damage to your treasured pieces.
