MY MAKERS MARK

Inspiration from an
Ancient Text...
The Shoshan

The iconic Fleur de Lys symbol is near and dear to my heart for two significant reasons.
The first is the source of its ancient roots, and I love history. The second is its special connection to my given name - Susanne, named after my French Aunt.
-
Susanne originates from the Hebrew word, 'Shoshan' שׁוֹשָׁן, which means Lily. The Fleur De Lys (Lily Flower) is a stylized lily.
-
'Shoshan' first appears in the Bible in connection with the 10th century B.C. temple of King Solomon - where decorative stylized lilies were carved into the stone capitals of the two pillars of the temple.
You will find this symbol, in the form of a Fleur De Lys sceptre design, hand stamped into most of my pieces, whether hidden, or in plain sight.
I Kings 7:19 Now the capitals that were on the tops of the
pillars in the vestibule were of lily 'shoshan' work, four cubits.
